James Madison High School consisted of:
New Addition
The new addition includes:
A Competition Gymnasium that seats 1,000 and is also a storm shelter.
Football, Basketball and Team Sports locker rooms and coaches’ offices.
Concession Stand and Lobby with display for trophies
Renovations
The project also renovations all of the existing campus, 183,742 SF. Including:
Reconfigure office area for Secure Entry
Reconfigure locker, film & training rooms, as well as coaches’ offices to coordinate with new Competition Gym.
Construction of a new entry Plaza that complements the Historical Front Entry.
General Renovations for the entire building include:
Clean Exterior Cast Stone.
Replace Exterior Windows
Paint Interior
New Lay-in Ceiling Systems
All new Lighting, Flooring and Markerboards
Replace existing roofing
Installation of large Skylights over Light Wells
Allows light in while keeping rain out of wells.
Allows historic Light Well in ceiling of Third Floor to emit light again.
Renovate existing small gym into new weight room
New Public Address System and Fire Alarm.
The majority of Electrical Panels and Transformers replaced.
Replace the majority of Roof Top HVAC equipment
All new Plumbing including replacement of Toilet Rooms
Rebuild the Elevator
Replace two Retaining Walls.
Install two new Tennis Courts and new Parking Lot and install wrought iron look Fence around parking lots.
Replace Nurses Clinic
Replace existing Track and Practice Field with new Track and Artificial Turf Field
